Holy Communion

Holy Communion

This is Christ’s table. All are welcome to receive at this table. You do not need to be a member of this church, or any church, to receive these gifts of bread and cup. All that is asked of you is to come to the table with a heart open to receive Christ’s gifts, freely given, for you and for all.”

The table of Holy Communion is Christ’s table. It is not Chevy Chase UMC’s table or The United Methodist Church’s table. All are welcome to receive Holy Communion and to respond to Christ’s invitation to seek a new life of purpose, grace, and hope.

People of every age are welcome to share in the sacrament of Holy Communion. Because we believe the table of Holy Communion is Christ’s table, we encourage every person, regardless of age or membership, to receive the bread and cup.

To ensure that every person may receive the sacrament of Holy Communion, the table is prepared with bread and grape juice. Gluten-free bread is also available for anyone who has a gluten intolerance.
