Baptism is a sign of God’s love and desire that every person be known as one of God’s beloved children. We celebrate the sacrament of baptism throughout the year in our worship services. We believe there is no “right age” when baptism should occur. Baptism at CCUMC is celebrated as an act of God’s love and grace, a sign of God’s claim on our lives and of our welcome into God’s community. We baptize children, youth, and adults, if they have not already been baptized for we recognize baptisms from other expressions of the Christian faith.
You do not need to be a member of CCUMC to be baptized, but we do encourage you to be in worship and in conversation with the Pastor. We believe baptism is not a one-day event and hope you will discover the gifts and opportunities that come with belonging to this community of faith.
