Children

Children are vital and highly valued members of our church family. From Sunday School and worship to the Christmas Pageant and the Easter Egg Hunt, our children are full and active participants in the life of the congregation. Nursery Care: Two experienced attendants are on duty every Sunday morning to care for infants and toddlers through age 3 in the nursery (Room 212) to the right of the art gallery. Youth

  All youth in grades 6-12 are invited to be a part of CCUMC’s Youth Group. On the first Sunday of each month the youth attend the 9:30 Contemporary Service together in the Chapel. On the other Sunday mornings after the Children’s Moment in the Contemporary Service, the youth study and have discussions about the Bible, Christian faith, and life. Confirmation

The word confirmation means “to make firmer or stronger.” Confirmation is offered every other year at CCUMC (our next class will be offered during the 2020-2021 academic year). Youth in 6th through 8th through confirmation are invited to claim faith in Jesus Christ for themselves. Confirmation helps youth learn more about what it means to follow Jesus’ message, provides a safe space for them to ask tough questions, and find meaning and purpose with a group of peers. Adults

We have opportunities for adults of all ages from young adults to seniors to gather together for education and fellowship. Many short term groups focus on Bible study and books of spiritual interest. All of them offer a chance for fellowship and the sharing of our faith. CCUMC Preschool

Our church preschool has been operating for more than 50 years in the Chevy Chase community. It’s a place where parents are involved, teachers stay for years, and young learners are encouraged and nurtured in joy. The school provides a morning preschool program for children ages two through five years. Early morning and afternoon enrichment programs are also available. The preschool  program emphasizes learning through play and parental involvement.
