We celebrate two worship services every Sunday during the school year: a 9:30 am contemporary worship service and an 11:00 am traditional worship service.
The 9:30 am service has a relaxed, informal feel to it. The praise band plays a variety of contemporary music. Special features include a Children’s Moment, interactive sermon, and enhancements to bring the scripture and sermon to life.
The 11:00 am service weaves prayer, sermon, and music together to connect worshippers to God. Congregational hymns, choral anthems, and classical music are all a part of this service.
From early June through the first Sunday in September, worship is at 10:00 am. Summer worship skillfully integrates traditional and contemporary elements.

Baptism is a sign of God’s grace and love. We baptize people of all ages and celebrate the sacrament of baptism throughout the year in our worship services.
You do not need to be a member of the church to be baptized, but we do encourage you to be in worship and in conversation with the Pastor. We believe baptism is not a one-day event, but the beginning of a life of faith lived within a church community.

Our clergy and staff are here to offer care and comfort following the death of a loved one. We will help you prepare a service that honors your loved one and brings comfort to mourners.
When a church member or loved one passes away, you may contact our pastor or the church office.

The table of Holy Communion is Christ’s table. All are welcome to receive Holy Communion and to respond to Christ’s invitation to seek a life of purpose, grace, and hope.
We typically celebrate communion on the first Sunday of the month. We celebrate with bread and grape juice and have gluten-free bread for those who need it.

Chevy Chase United Methodist Church is available for couples who wish to solemnize their marriage in a service of Christian worship.
