Pastor Kate

Rev. Kate Mackereth Fulton (they/she) has spent their ministry career seeking to bring those at the margins into the center of communities of faith and learning the power of vulnerability in all aspects of spiritual life. Her vocational focus is accompanying personal and communal journeys of crisis and transformation, often breaking "stained glass ceilings" in the process.

Rev. Kate has previously served at Trinity UMC in Germantown, MD, St. Paul's UMC in Kensington, MD, and as a hospital chaplain in the Inova network, St. Elizabeths Hospital, and MedStar Washington Hospital Center. She is a contributor to “Speaking Truth: Women Raising Their Voices In Prayer” (Abingdon Press, 2020), “Worship Any Time Or Place: The Compact Book of Methodist Liturgies, Prayers and Other Acts of Blessing” (Abingdon, 2024) and "Grace Poured Out: A Lenten Reflection on Water, Wine and Oil" (Chalice Press, 2026). Kate is also a proud double alumna of Wesley Theological Seminary (M.A., M.Div), and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree at Fuller Theological Seminary in Leading Change under the direction of Dr. Tod Bolsinger.

Rev. Kate resides in northern VA with spouse Andrew, cats Gracie and Vinny, basset hound Louise, and a delightful rotating cast of family, friends, and foster pets. Their hobbies include writing with a far-too-large collection of fountain pens, playing guitar, and painting terrible watercolors.
